Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect.

It's learning to look past life's imperfections

Looking back..for just a few minutes

Wow, They say you can never go home again but Sarah from All of my Biz Naz got me pretty close.

Sarah is the daughter of my childhood best friend Patti. And any thing I ever did wrong (or got caught doing) is all her fault. That’s my story & I’m stickin to it!

This is the house that has most of my memories. I spent my Middle & High School years here. Yes, in that house as I was generally in trouble & grounded. We loved that house, huge rooms, inlayed hardwood floors & claw foot tubs….12 ft ceilings & a laundry chute. My parents got it for a song, some one needed to move quick..as in they were leaving town fast. (I think there was an issue of a business loosing a lot of money as in cash) When we lived there it had original hardwood interior pillars, built in buffet & desk. I think it was the 2nd or 3rd house built in town. The kitchen my dad remodeled in the 70’s….

When we lived there it had original hardwood paneling, interior pillars, built in buffet & desk. I think it was the 2nd or 3rd house built in town. The kitchen my dad remodeled in the 70’s….big farm kitchen with the swinging door & huge windows throughout the house. **sigh**

The front door was beveled glass & heavy. Made a solid“thunk” sound when you closed it. And the staircase….the 8th step squeeks, but if you step on the interior side it won’t. (Just info for any teenagers that may live there) Not that I ever used it but, my closet had a door into the attic….which led to a trapdoor to a ladder into the back porch…..not that we ever made use of it….or forgot to wipe the ladder steps. My Dad was a smart man..he knew what to look for. Mom had a old megaphone she painted & sat on the bottom step. She used it in the morning, calling for us to get up for school ..saved running up and down stairs & her seeing our messy teen-aged rooms. Lot of music in that house, Jim Crocce, Cat Stevens, The Band, Mac Davis….sleepovers with Patti, Cheryl, Betty who’s mothers were all sure I was a wild child leading their daughters astray….if only they knew, it went both ways…And yes I did get 2 "just like me".

Some wonderful people bought the house..I don’t remember the name but I believe they owned the Western Auto store. Looks like they are taking good care of her……I wonder if the little koi pond is still there…..Or Mike & Sues Diner & 4th St Photography?

Erika & Chris closed on their first house this morning. I hope & pray they have great memories down the road to look back on.

  1. I was the perfect child, what are you thinking. I followed you, Betty & Sheryl. The same people own the house. They have been doing alot of outside work the last couple of years. My mom & dad are doing good.

  2. I had a home like that. Such good memories that crop up in the family conversations when we're all together.
I meant to leave a comment on your earlier post about Isiah's new bow. Wow! And hunting too. So great for a guy his age. Shega and Kerry are in a bow league and Shega loves it! She out shoots her Dad sometimes and many of the women. We should look into getting her her own bow. Oh, and I wouldn't give you any leftovers, I'd just invite you to dinner.
