Sticks in the Water Cardigan & Free Pattern

I haven't really been slacking, we've been pretty busy (crazy-frantic) with preparations for Erika & Chris' Wedding Reception.

The storm damage has set us back about 6 days of yard & patio/courtyard work. Larry is working himself ragged trying to complete it. We are down to placing the stones for the floor and it's a "one man show" from here on out. I know we wont have the entire floor completed in time but he hopes to have the stones that are out set. The rest will have to be leveled pea gravel. Well, you do what you can right? I think its , going to look fantastic when were through.

I do have a few works to show, in between manic bouts of cleaning I finished the "Hannah Banana" Sweater. Hannah is my good friend Johanna's daughter. Big girl in first grade this year! This is a crop sleeve, shrug, sweater. It was made for her birthday in May....all it needed was the front button band completed. Another UFO completed!

Shes so excited to finally get to wear it. We are having cool fall mornings so it will come in handy waiting for the school bus.

This one was made with Bernat Chunky, washable for a active child and working single mom!

So I was cruising around Ravelry (which always gets me in trouble) I found this adorable baby boy sweater pattern called "Felix's Cardigan" & could not resist!
I used a washable "I Love this Yarn" from Hobby Lobby. I love this colorway & call it "
Sticks in the Water"
The directions are very clear and easy to follow. Only took about 3 hours of knitting.
I just deleted the 2nd photo showing the full sweater! Great for that "oh, I forgot" baby shower!
Make sure you leave her a note if you make it up. To often we benefit from others work and never leave a note of thanks!
Oh, I just found out I received a Blog award, from one of my 3 readers!!!
I'll go scoop it and post it in a bit.
Back to manic cleaning and cooking!

Scrap Happy Stash Buster

A little weekend knitting

If you like knitting with cotton, you may like me may have tons of left over scrap in your stash. Not enough for a dish cloth, just a little of this and a little of that. What to do with all those partial balls? How about a Scrap Happy Stash Busting Market Bag. A bag for those quick trips when you only need a gallon of milk and leave with a bag full.( you know what I mean, Oh, I need pasta & cookies are on sale!) Inspired by the Malika Bag at Overbrewed Knits, I started playing with my scrap cotton. Not quite as deep, this one is 12 inches long and the front measures 11 inches wide. But, it stretches to 24 inches wide and 18 inches in length! Just enough for that $50.00 gallon of milk!

Knitterly Wednesday

What a great week. I've had about 15 wip's (work in progress) going in various stages of completion. Thought it was time I knuckled under and finished them. So, I have a lot of finished projects (FO) to share.

I've been on a kick of baby sweaters. My oldest daughter Danielle took one look at this and said that’s "Carrie Fever" I think the name fits, cropped sleeves, smart and sassy for a 12-18 mo little Fashionista!'

"Cotton Candy" was next, cropped sleeve, traditional soft pink with flecks of color. Cute ceramic kitten button closure. Fits the average 9-18 month in the diaper crowd.

"Play Ground Princess" Just screamed "I want to play" when I finished. This sweater has a lot of give and will fit a newborn by rolling the sleeves to a average 9 month

I had a few pairs of Booties left to seam up. Fun colors for boys or girls, 100% cotton

So, whats on your needles?

Finish-itus No More!

I’m still learning how to place photos so, bear with me if they are out of order.

I seem to be recovering from my finish-itus. I finally got the buttons sewn on the Mini, so she’s done! I decided after much debate not to add the buttons on the bottom. It was just a bit too much. It was fun to make, have to think of more color combos!

I also frogged the Pure and Simple Jumper. I found 3 or 4 other patterns and adapted a bit of each. Using Cascade 22o, I tweaked it a bit under the arms and I like the look better. It’s just such a versatile garment, jumper for winter and sundress for summer. I was trying to decide what to trim this with and decided on Dragonflies. They are all over our pond, and back yard. They remind me of children zipping around out side after being inside to long!

I know I will be making more of this one, possibly gray next time.
I have a few sweaters to post, just need to re charge the camera batteries.

I had to add Dragonfly to the back, after all, with little ones that's what we see the most!
