Freecycle Finds!

Have you joined Free-Cycle Yet?  If not your missing out!

Free-Cycle is a wonderful program similar to Craig’s list but, Its FREE!

The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,775 groups with 7,090,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills.Items you no longer need you post and someone will pick up.  Ours covers 4-5 counties.

We’ve cleared out clothing, toys, furniture you name it.  We’ve also gained a camp stove, gardening tools, veggies, fruit and many other things.  You  need to give away before you get so I keeps some from being “getters” only.  Need something?  Just post!  When Erika & Danielle moved out I posted we were looking for yard & gardening tools, fencing etc & we had numerous responses to come and pick up!

This past fall and through the winter I was posting looking for canning jars as the girls are gardening and want to can & getting started can be expensive…..there were no offers until last week.

This is what I picked up to share with them…..

Mix 005 Water bath canner, tongs &….Mix 003

7 cases of quart jars and a few boxes of new lids & rings!

Wooot!

After cleaning out “stuff” the last thing I want to do is haul it all to the thrift store. I end up with bags to donate by the door or,  in my car for a week.   Freecycle takes care of that problem!

What are you waiting for?

  1. I love Freecycle. Have mainly used it to get rid of stuff that I didn't want to end up in a dump. Stuff that was still working or needed minor repairs. so far everyone has been really nice who comes by to pick stuff up. Reminds me I have to advertise our old central vac,we replaced with a new model.

I love freecycle, thus far have only given away - its a great tool for clearing clutter and epitomises the saying about one man's trash being another's treasure!
