In the past I’ve made mention I’m a list maker. I have monthly, weekly & daily To~Do Lists. I have lists for summer and all the projects to accomplish, I have knitting lists, sewing lists, gardening lists….And a ‘”Skills I want to learn list.”
I’ve been whittling away on all the lists but, these past few weeks I’ve focused on a few from the skills list. We’ve always been “from scratch cooks but one thing I’ve never been able to master is
Bread…Home made…fresh baked…
hot from the oven
bottom spreading bread.
Thanks to (or I should say it’s her fault…the bottom spreading that is!) Debbie from “ Our Old Homestead” I’ve got it down.
I should have worked on this in the summer when I was more active because you can’t have bottom spreading bread with out fresh butter. Rhonda from the Down~to~Earth Blog has the easiest butter tutorial I’ve ever seen or tried.
It works, it’s goooood & I want some
right now!
So come summer, if none of my summer clothes fit, I know who to blame. Because who can turn away from the aromatic lure of fresh, warm, bread!
What skills are you working on?
I grew up eating homemade bread and butter. Can't be beat and my husband wishes I would do it more often for us. but nah, I really do not enjoy it. I make it for special treats.
ReplyDeleteThe skill I am wanting to master is to know my camera better. I want it to be my best friend.
Katie fresh bread and butter there is nothing like it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy
I am so glad you are enjoying the recipe Katie! Don't blame me for the waistline increase though...it is the butter! LOL
ReplyDeleteDebbie

ReplyDeleteI just bought myself a new camera as an early Christmas present and am having fun playing with out. I would like to learn how to take better pictures.
