Remember Paige who created those super cute “Sister” hats? Well, she’s done it again. This time for her Father In Law a birdhouse collector
Paige told me “ he makes LOADS of birdhouses, using wood burning and paint to put on the designs. I wanted him to have something from ME, which means FABRIC. “
Using Tacky glue she attached the piping to the edges. Then cut her fabric just a tad lager than the walls (just enough to tuck under)
Look at this beautiful toile she used!
and attached to the walls with a spray adhesive.
Let it set over night to dry..
Using pinking shears she cut the little felt squares for her shingles Again using Tacky glue she placed her shingles
& let dry over night
Paige even created a small wreath, using fabric scraps with a wreath pattern stitched to red felt,
glued on at top using hot glue.
Any exposed wood she painted with wood paint markers… brown for the roof trim, and green for the birds perches
Touches of glue around the opening took care of any exposed edges
Red felt was glued to the bottom to prevent scratches
The only thing left was to welcome the new renters!
OK, Paige hot glued these cardinals into position.
I love the creative use of fabric & the contrast of the birds & print.
I think Paige’s Father~In~Law will be proud to add this Birdhouse To his Collection
It did turn out good. I wish it was Christmas now so I could see him open it. Just a little longer! For now it's sitting on a shelf right above my computer. Hi little birdies! They said hi back haha.
