Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect.

It's learning to look past life's imperfections

It’s Been A Long Week

We’ve had a lot on our plate and I’m just now taking a breather or a sob…

I feel like we’ve been on an emotional roller coaster.

I’ve really tried not to get political here but I’m just sick.

This election is over and so is our status as a nation..the land of the free and home of the brave where our Constitution has become simply a piece of historical paper in a pretty frame.

A friend of mine put to words perfectly how I feel.

**“ I actually felt as if I was grieving! Like someone had died’. **

I feel like every thing we’ve worked for as a nation & and worked to build as a family has been for nothing.

I felt as if the 19 members of our family…. from our sons generation to our parents including my husband and myself who served Active Duty and swore to “ support and defend the Constitution of the United States “ was for naught.

I know it’s not true because we have to continue to live our lives as an example for the next generation.

Teach them right from wrong.

To work for what you want, strive to be a better person, learn all you can and apply that knowledge to the betterment of yourself and others….to be responsible for your words and actions, to be a responsible, productive & contributing member of society

But, it’s hard to do when the destruction of all we as a country stand for comes from inside the gate.

Tomorrow will be a better day

Thanks for letting me vent

Katie

  2. We have good friends who have been put through hell for the past couple of years because of his devoted belief in the Constitution and his deep faith in it as a document on which our country was founded and by which we should still be guided. The powers that be, assisted by lawyers of their choosing, are slowly taking away our rights as put forth in the Constitution.

But we still live in a country where we have choices. And one of the best choices is, as you say, to live our individual lives in the best way we possibly can . . . for ourselves and our children and their children.

    Sending a big hug, Katie.

    1. Thanks Mama, it's for our children that I get so upset. I don't want them saying things like "when I was a child we could vote/travel freely/garden/choose " to their children. But your right, we do the best we possibly can. That will have to be enough.

  4. You have described so well the feeling deep in my core, my stomach. I keep clinging to the fact God is in control, but He also allows us choices and consequences of those choices. Our country has made some poor ones. I am afraid for my grandchildren.

    1. He IS in control Debby. But as the saying goes we are going to work like its up to us. Lots of extra praying here & a lot of other homes I'm sure. Your grandchildren will be far better off than most as they have you & your family to teach them. Hugs to you
