Pants on Fire! Shorties & Family Time

Fresh off the needles! O.K., it was this morning. STK Large Shorties.

"Pants on Fire" Base Yarn: Brown Sheep Lambs Pride Worsted Weight Contents: 85% Wool, 15% Mohair. Purchased from Monkeyypal Hand dyed yarns.

Rich Red's to yellow and every shade in between! Stocking on Etsy this evening!

This weekend was crazy in our house. We had fun but it was nuts! Lots of people in and out, and we had our bonus granddaughter Raven for a few days. Leaving church Raven & Isaiah picked up pine cones, special ones....."because, they were just laying right there waiting for them to come along and pick them up!"

After a lot of giggling, tape & craft paper, these are the table decorations I was surprised with!

Little kids playing nicely above, big kids not playing nicely below.....Isaiah quickly told Daddy & Auntie Danielle they both had a time out for "rough housing inside"

During the ice storm we Bird-sat for a friend of Erika's who was with out power..............we still have the bird. Seems the owners did not want it back. So, in the house we now have 4 adults, 2 children, 1 Golden Retriever (that thinks hes a Poodle), 20 fish, a Parrot and now another bird.
If we still had the cat I said we would have named it (Little Bird) Kitty Bait!

My Zoo, I wouldn't want it any other way!
Most of the time!~

Turkey & Tesseract Longies!

Turkey sandwiches, turkey soup, turkey casserole, turkey & rice, how do I love the let me count the ways....... We LOVE Turkey, why do we always wait for the holidays to cook one. It is one of the economical meats/poultry there is.

I spent the day with family & a lot of laughter, cooking, eating, laughing eating, laughing, dishes, eating, and a bit more laughter. We had a wonderful day, how was yours?

I'm seriously trying to do a bit of knit from stash only. I have more un-dyed yarn coming and need to make room! So, I spent a relaxing afternoon knitting a pait of "Sheep Pants" I used "Tesseract" by Monkeypal from Etsy. Super soft and knits up nice and dense. It was one of 5 I bought early spring and forgot about. I striped it with Deep Teal Ashford tekapo. The photos look bluish but it is a deep Teal that matches perfectly with her colors. Started this morning and already have it listed in the Etsy store.

Soakers and Sleep Sacks

For the cloth diaper set............
These 100% sleeper sac soakers were a fun knit. Wonderful for newborn to about 3 months(or until they become scooters) and make for super quick night time diaper changes. I fell in love with the colors. The Pink & Purple color way is from Sarah at Babylonglegs, so vivid and fun.
I love her work, super soft but sturdy. I have 4 or 5 other hand dyed by her so you will be seeing them soon. I have a link to her website on my side bar

I used the free pattern (found on Ravelry) Booty Extreme by Jessica Meredith for the soakers. Great pattern, directions very clear and allow room for your own creativity. The yarn is another hand-dye. This one is called "Jiminey Crickets" by Monkeypal. Her link is also on my side bar. Both Fiber Enablers are wonderful about special orders and providing a quality product.
These should all be posteed to my Etsy shop today.

Eye candy in the mail

I picked up yesterdays mail, and received EYE CANDY!! An order from one of my new favorite "Yarn Queen's", Monkeypal hand-dyed yarns! Monkeypal.etsy.com I know its a shameless plug but they are not only beautiful but wonderful to knit with and wear. I found her on etsy.com. If you haven't made a visit to Etsy you really need to. Every thing's handmade. Clothing to yard-art and beyond! All the wonderful arts we as a society are losing to "fast food" shopping. Ok, so I'm over my social rant. (I'll save that for another time!) ;0. Here's the only issue. I FED THE STASH! I set myself a new rule. I have to knit 3 items to purchase another skein of yarn. (Unless of course its to finish a project or..on sale) So, its sitting on my table, in all its glory waiting for me to meet my self-imposed goals. Just staring at me saying na na na na na! Is this cheating, I said items, i didn't specify what type or size the project had to be. So, I'm knocking out some bibs, hats & mitts for my shop.
