Bunny? What do you mean you Have a BUNNY!

My children are to young to have memory loss

so that leads me to believe its “selective memory”

Did I not just have the Rabbit Riots….

the Bushwhacking Bunnies……

IN MY GARDEN!?!

My daughter is a traitor, she's gone to the other side

no, I don't mean she's become a Democrat or any thing like that…

They brought a Rabbit home

This guy

They gave the song & dance that they “rescued” him at the county fair arcades

Then they played dirty and send the kid to me

Yes that one….and he said

“Grandma, can I keep him please?”

With big eyes

They fight dirty.

A 98 lb Golden Retriever

that thinks he’s a poodle,  has self esteem issues &

has started barking at flies, and cars in the driveway

A Pionus Parrot, named Papuga ……

that screeches when Evie cries or Buddy barks

A Parakeet, “little Bird”

that can get out of any known cage, that chirps and carries on when ever Papuga talks, or screeches…when ever Buddy barks or Evie cries

2 fish tanks

2 children

and now

A Rabbit

Yes, I am going crazy

True Friends will…

The other day I had a meltdown..

you know those days, weeks, years where everything piles up

and piles up…

you smile and work thru it..

I can deal with this…

but it piles up…

the smile cracks to a grimace

it piles more,  gathering force like a magnate

a crap magnate…

Hello! Give me more to deal with!

Poor Jo, called and unknowingly added to it

the landslide was large,

the magnate was full

& I exploded to tears, yelling, snotty tears

then I was mad because I cried

that I couldn’t deal with everything properly

then I got mad at myself for melting down

and being weak,

which created more snotty tears,

everything snowballs to a

full on meltdown

It wasn’t pretty

Poor Jo, was just being a good friend, sister…..

took the full brunt of EVERYTHING

If you can cower in fear, shock on the phone…

I think she did

Poor thing

we haven’t really spoken since

until this morning…..

she sent me the following e card

True Friendship.
You WON'T see

Cutesy little smiley faces
On this card-

Just the stone cold truth

Of our great friendship

1..
When you are sad,

I will jump on the person

Who made you sad

Like a spider monkey

Jacked up on Mountain Dew!!!

2. When you are blue,

I will try to dislodge

Whatever is choking you.

3. When you smile,

I will know you are

Plotting something

That I must be involved in.

4. When you're scared,

We will high tail it out of here.

5. When you are worried,

I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse

It could be until you

Quit whining, ya big baby!!!!

6. When you are confused,

I will use little words.

7. When you are sick,

Stay away from me

Until you are well again.

I don't want whatever you have.

8. When you fall,

I'll pick you up

And dust you off--

After I laugh my rear off!!

9. This is my oath...

I pledge it to the end.

'Why?' you may ask;

-- because you are my FRIEND!

***********************
Friendship is like peeing your pants,

Everyone can see it,

BUT only YOU

Can feel the

True warmth.

I’m so glad she’s still a part of my life!

My Kind OF Sheriff!

This Was to good not to pass on………….

You all remember Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona , who painted the jail cells pink and made the inmates wear pink prison garb. Well.........
SHERIFF JOE IS AT IT AGAIN!
Oh, there's MUCH more to know about Sheriff Joe!
Maricopa County was spending approx. $18 million dollars a year on stray animals, like cats and dogs. Sheriff Joe offered to take the department over, and the County Supervisors said okay.
The animal shelters are now all staffed and operated by prisoners. They feed and care for the strays. Every animal in his care is taken out and walked twice daily. He now has prisoners who are experts in animal nutrition and behavior. They give great classes for anyone who'd like to adopt an animal. He has literally taken stray dogs off the street, given them to the care of prisoners, and had them place in dog shows.
The best part? His budget for the entire department is now under $3 million. Teresa and I adopted a Weimaraner from a Maricopa County shelter two years ago. He was neutered, and current on all shots, in great health, and even had a microchip inserted the day we got him. Cost us $78.
The prisoners get the benefit of about $0.28 an hour for working, but most would work for free, just to be out of their cells for the day.. Most of his budget is for utilities, building maintenance, etc. He pays the prisoners out of the fees collected for adopted animals.
I have long wondered when the rest of the country would take a look at the way he runs the jail system, and copy some of his ideas. He has a huge farm, donated to the county years ago, where inmates can work, and they grow most of their own fresh vegetables and food, doing all the work and harvesting by hand.
He has a pretty good sized hog farm, which provides meat, and fertilizer. It fertilizes the Christmas tree nursery, where prisoners work, and you can buy a living Christmas tree for $6 - $8 for the Holidays, and plant it later. We have six trees in our yard from the Prison.
Yup, he was reelected last year with 83% of the vote.
Now he's in trouble with the ACLU again. He painted all his buses and vehicles with a mural, that has a special hotline phone number painted on it, where you can call and report suspected illegal aliens.. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement wasn't doing enough in his eyes, so he had 40 deputies trained specifically for enforcing immigration laws, started up his hotline, and bought 4 new buses just for hauling folks back to the border. He's kind of a 'Git-R Dun' kind of Sheriff..
TO THOSE OF YOU NOT FAMILIAR WITH JOE ARPAIO
HE IS THE MARICOPA ARIZONA COUNTY SHERIFF
AND HE KEEPS GETTING ELECTED OVER AND OVER
THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY:
Sheriff Joe Arpaio (In Arizona ) who created the ' Tent City Jail':
He has jail meals down to 40 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them..
He stopped smoking and porno magazines in the jails. Took away their weights Cut off all but 'G' movies.
He started chain gangs so the inmates could do free work on county and city projects.
Then He Started Chain Gangs For Women So He Wouldn't Get
Sued For Discrimination.
He took away cable TV Until he found out there was A Federal Court Order that Required Cable TV For Jails So He Hooked Up The Cable TV Again Only Let In The Disney Channel And The Weather Channel.
When asked why the weather channel He Replied, So They Will Know How Hot It's Gonna Be While They Are Working
ON My Chain Gangs.
He Cut Off Coffee Since It Has Zero Nutritional Value.
When the inmates complained, he told them, 'This Isn't The Ritz/Carlton......If You Don't Like It, Don't Come Back.'
More On The Arizona Sheriff:
With Temperatures Being Even Hotter Than Usual In Phoenix (116 Degrees Just Set A New Record), the Associated Press Reports:
About 2,000 Inmates Living In A Barbed-Wire-Surrounded Tent Encampment At The Maricopa County Jail Have Been Given Permission To Strip Down To Their Government-Issued
Pink Boxer Shorts.
On Wednesday, hundreds of men wearing boxers were either curled up on their bunk beds or chatted in the tents, which reached
138 Degrees Inside The Week Before.
Many Were Also Swathed In Wet, Pink Towels As Sweat Collected On Their Chests And Dripped Down To Their PINK SOCKS.
'It Feels Like We Are In A Furnace,' Said James Zanzot, An Inmate Who Has Lived In The TENTS for 1 year. 'It's Inhumane.'
Joe Arpaio, the tough-guy sheriff who created the tent city and long ago started making his prisoners wear pink, and eat bologna sandwiches, is not one bit sympathetic. He said Wednesday that he told all of the inmates: 'It's 120 Degrees In Iraq And Our Soldiers Are Living In Tents Too, And They Have To Wear Full Battle Gear,
But They Didn't Commit Any Crimes,So Shut Your Mouths!'
Way To Go, Sheriff!
Maybe if all prisons were like this one there would be a lot less crime and/or repeat offenders. Criminals should be punished for their crimes - not live in luxury until it's time for their parole, only to go out and commit another crime so they can get back in to live on taxpayers money and enjoy things taxpayers can't afford to have for themselves.

Garden Updates

Mr Fix~it has a cousin JM whom we just love to pieces.
Just like a brother, would do anything for you
goes out of his way to help,
picks up tools for Mr Fix~it he finds at bargain prices
because someday....you might need need a "widget" to fix that "thingie"
You set him to plan something out & you will have the most comprehensive,
time, money, labor-saving project there could be...
He's like a dog on point.....extreme focus
Sometimes, that's good
Sometimes, its not.
Sometimes I want to hurt him.....
Like the other day......
Mr Fix~it said "MJ, could you follow me in my truck"
MJ, took this seriously, took the shortest & most efficient route...
which did not apparently include backing up in the driveway 5 ft behind him
Instead, he took the most direct route....
across the field and
through my little garden!

Not up the rows......
diagonal, across all the rows
all
6 wheels....
through
the garden
We cleaned up the rows
replanted..

I left the tracks
maybe I can guilt him into helping me weed!
I'm sure it will be funny
in a few years~

Birthday Suprises!

Wednesday, Mr Fix~it gave me flowers
My favorite kind,
a riot of
Colorful,
Bright,
Cheerful,
FUN!
The occasion?
My Birthday!
I had a wonderful surprise supper with friends and family
Some really great gifts, they know me sooo well!

This butterfly for my garden?
A few weeks ago,
We had stopped in at Cracker Barrel with Larry's parents,
They noticed me drooling over it
and remembered
Oh, all the stepping stones?
When we put this garden in my bonus Granddaughter Raven was "helping" me.....
a few (OK, a lot!) plants were getting trampled.....
so where ever her little legs could hop,
is where I placed a stone.
The chunk of 2x4?
That is courtesy of Buddy....
any loose piece of wood,
stick
2x4
tree branch....
well, you get the idea.
Lets just say....
we never run short of kindling for the fire pit.
My gift from Mr Fix~it & the girls?
They made me cry....
A round trip ticket to visit my family in Calif this fall!
I can't tell you how long its been since I've seen my Mom & sisters,
8-10 yrs?
I'm not telling them I'm coming,
just going to knock on Moms door and ask for a cup of coffee.
Did you get that?
Round trip?
I get to come home!
Pretty awesome birthday!

Bloomies Are Here!

I had the honor of test knitting for Mandie of Sheepy time Knits!
How cute are these!

Bloomies!
A "Girlie" take on Shorties
The Bloomies pattern is written for 6 sizes, newborn to toddler.
Included are instructions for 3 different waist bands, several styles of drawstrings, clear instructions for short rows and 8 different types of ruffles.
Includes lots of pictures to walk you through it.

Of course I had to make a Pink pair...
We slid them on the Diva for a quick photo.
They are bit big and no tie yet but,
we just had to see what they would look like
Small pair in Peach
with a ruffle cuff
I should have them listed in Etsy today!

Playin in the Dye Pots

I think I'm starting to get it...
The bolder colors that is.
I've had a hard time creating bold vibrant colors consistently
Taking notes, (and knowing where I put them) in 1 notebook,
not 5 ...has helped!
Now to work on color joins.....
On my way to re skein
Can't wait to knit these up!

Etsy Teasury

WooHoo! A few others & I were selected for another Etsy Treasury!
If I knew how to post the page I would

Maxine-ism's

I bought a bird feeder.
I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed.
What a beauty of a bird feeder it was, as I filled it lovingly with seed.
Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage
of the continuous flow
of free and easily accessible food.
But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio,
above the table, and next to the barbecue.
Then came the poop.
It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table ..
everywhere!
Then some of the birds turned mean.
They would dive bomb me and try to peck me
even though I had fed them out of my own pocket.
And others birds were boisterous and loud.
They sat on the feeder and squawked
and screamed at all hours of the day and night and
demanded that I fill it when it got low on food.
After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore.
So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone.
I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio.
Soon, the back yard was like it used to be .... quiet, serene....
and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.
Now let's see.
Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing,
free medical care and free education,
and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen.
Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands.
Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services;
small apartments are housing 5 families;
you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor;
your child's second grade class is behind
other schools because
over half the class doesn't speak English.
Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box;
I have to 'press one ' to hear my bank talk to me in English,
and people waving flags other than our flag
are squawking and screaming in the streets,
demanding more rights and free liberties.
Just my opinion,
but maybe it's time for the government
to take down the bird feeder.

Happy Birthday America!

I'm the first to admit we as a country are not perfect.
But shes still my country.
I firmly feel with all my heart, if enough people stand up
we can become the country our "Founding Fathers" envisioned &
fought to build.
Not the plastic gimme society we have become.
A heart felt THANK YOU! to all of our Veterans

WIP & Ready for the Madison Regatta!

WIP Mania on Ravely is off to a great start!

After many false starts, The body of Alaska Lass Longies are off to a great start. The body is completed and I should get a good bit completed on the legs today. Possibly finish tomorrow at the Madison Regatta.

We go every year & it was wonderful to see a movie made that shows the spirit of the town and sport.
As exciting as Hydroplane Boat Races are I can only take so much an will need a project (or 3-4) to work on!

I have a 3rd test knit for Mandie of Sheepy Time Knits....no the 2nd is not completed....I liked the peach and had empty needles......

OK, where is this child?

Oh, Hes with Grandpa!

While the Cats Away

Ever wonder what really happens at your house
while your gone on vacation?
"Remember that saying,
"while the cats away, the mice will play?"
Those young ladies left behind at Evy's house are running wild!
Having a good time doing all sorts of things.
They have been playing, sunning & even went to the park!
Tried pizza & other snacks for the first time.
I sure hope the elves and 7 dwarf's don't hear that
they have been out partyin it up! And you know the rules,
no other kids at the house if Mom & dad are not home!
I sure hope they have the house and yard cleaned up
by the time Evy gets home from her Happy place!

Whats on your needles?

1st Harvest & Fun Finds

I was working in the garden
and noticed 2 of the onion sets I planted were starting to flower
Yes! they were DONE!
This was my haul today....
they are so tiny not at all the large bulbs I envisioned.
I gave them plenty of growing room...about 4 inches apart

Any idea what I did wrong?
They are about 1/10th of what they should be!
Talk to me people!
My cherry tomatoes are the size of small plums....
I found 8 cantaloupe started the size of tennis balls
I was cutting a few of the lingering Lily's
for the table.....

Look what I found! We've never had double blooms before!
Sure hope they come back next year!

I'm all ears folks, what could/should I have done with the onions to
grow the large apple sized bulbs?
